This was going to be a game (and still can be, but I struggled). Here is an A-Z of titles (excluding X, even with my librarian skills I couldn't find a children's book that begins with X):

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll
Bill's New Frock by Anne Fine
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
A Dog so Small by Philippa Pearce
Eagle of the Ninth by Rosemary Sutcliff
Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell (illustrated by Helen Oxenbury)
Growing Yams in London by Sophia Acheampong
Holes by Louis Sachar
The Illustrated Mum by Jacqueline Wilson
James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl
Kipper's A-Z by Mick Inkpen
The Last Battle by C S Lewis
Mary Poppins by P L Travers
The Neverending Story by Michael Ende
Orlando the Marmalade Cat: A Trip Abroad by Kathleen Hale
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster
The Queen's Nose by Dick King-Smith
The Return of the Indian by Lynne Reid Banks
Shadow in the North by Philip Pullman
The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tiler by Gene Kemp
Up on Cloud Nine by Anne Fine
Voyager by Jan Mark
Winnie the Witch by Jeanne Willis (illustrated by Korky Paul)
X - Child X by Lee Weatherley
You Choose! by Pippa Goodhart (illustrated by Nick Sharratt)
Z for Zachariah by Robert C O'Brien

Admin edit:I've cheated with X. A list member contacted me with a suggestion.

This might make an interesting game/alternative list if anyone's interested in playing? I know it's silly, but it's fun.
