Hello, what a great idea! This is the first forum I've ever joined, but I'm hoping to get lots of useful information.
I'm a school librarian in a middle school (ages 9 - 13) in Suffolk. I love children's literature and read as much as I possibly can, but I also run an adult reading group in my village, so I'm pretty much reading every spare minute!
I've just finished Ways To Live Forever by Sally Nicholls - very moving, I was sobbing by the end. Has anyone else read this?
I've also just finished Stoneheart by Charlie Fletcher - brilliant! I'm soon to start the next instalment. Does anyone have any views?
Thanks,
Laura

Hello, LauratheLibrarian.  I hadn't heard of either these texts--the US amazon site had no descriptions of them--but I am a children's series fantasy junkie and have ordered up the two Fletcher books.  Thanks for mentioning them. Jameela

Hi everyone.  I'm a School Librarian in the West Midlands and have spent most of my life with my nose in a book - either professionally or for fun.   I've just picked up 'Ways to Live Forever' today and feel it might be a three-hanky job.  The trouble with my job though is that I start reading oodles of books and then never finish them because kids come and pinch them off me.  I'm hoping to talk with you about the books I've read (or half-read) and hear lots more about books I haven't.  It's a hard job keeping up with everything in this golden age of children's lit!

Hello, I've recently joined. I'm a librarian in a university Faculty of Education and part of my remit is the children's collection, used by students when they go on teaching practice. Please check out my Children's Literature website:

Greetings to all new members,

It's been very quiet around here and I haven't been on much lately as I have had a recent bereavement. I'm hoping to post up some more lists soon, and of course anyone is welcome to start one. I'm glad to see some more librarians and educators.

Phyllis
