Children’s books are thus inevitably didactic’

what do people think of  the relevance of this  claim in relation to Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone?

Try explaining the concept of didacticism in children’s literature and placing it in a historical context.

you might want to think about which traditional characteristics of this book can be found and then illustrate how these have been used to instruct the child reader.

Do you agree that didacticism is inevitable in children’s books?

You could consider how far the evidence you have about this book serves to challenge or support the above claim.

You might also want to explore the concept of ‘instruction and delight’ in its historical context

Children should always be given books that can inspire them and make them self dependent. Not the one which has imaginary characters with extra ordinary powers.
